I need a halloween party punch recipe. Anyone have any recipes involving red bull? Also reddish or other ominous looking colors a plus. Thanks! IP: Logged |

Vodka and Redbull is the only almost-acceptable flavor combination I've found. Redbull has such a strong bubblegum flavor that nothing else but a neutral spirit will really work. So I guess that means you could use Everclear. Why Redbull, anyway? Do you want people to go into cardiac arrest? Jello shots made with red jello would be good fun. After you make the jello you can cut it up real messy to look nasty in the dixie cups. Throw some grapes in them and you've got Eyeball Shooters. Gross, eh? Kool-Aid mixed with various food dyes can produce muddy brown or even black drinks. If disturbing hues are your goal, just go nuts with the dropper bottles. IP: Logged |

I saw this thing in a Halloween book where you freeze red sugar-free kool-aid in plastic surgeons' gloves- make sure they're washed first, and close them with a twist tie after filling with kool-aid. When they're frozen, cut off the gloves and float them in your punch. Mmmm..disembodied hands! [This message has been edited by amandafaith (edited 10-15-2001).] IP: Logged |

I saw that on Martha Stewart, Amanda. She also filled a plastic mask with water so it looked like hands and a face in the punch. I am going to try to do that. As for Red Bull, Epi, a lot of my friends and I are big fans of the stuff. I will be sure to put a warning on the punch in case anyone isn't into it. IP: Logged |

I do the hand thing every year, it works really great and since its ice, it keeps punch cold and decorative! IP: Logged |

My grandma used to do the glove thing when my mom was growing up. From stories, I think that she threw some rather elaborate halloween parties for my mom, aunt and uncle. Another fun ice thing to do (my mom's choice of punches for our halloween parties) is to use dry ice, it works best if you can find one of those giant fake cauldrons- it seems to boil and steam. But I would use caution with dry ice around people who are drunk- they really could hurt themselves! IP: Logged |
