Hi-
I switched my deodorant from Dove to Ban, and now I sweat so much more than what I used to. What is a good brand of deodorant that cuts down on sweating.

I've had a lot of trouble with a lot of different brands, and so I've done a lot of research on the topic. According to the experts, you can't "become immune" to a certain type of deodorant. But at the same time, a lot has to do with brand vs. your body chemistry. So if one brand isn't doing it, you should try another and keep trying until you find one that works well for you. Personally I've had better luck with the kinds that click out in a paste rather than the solid ones, particularly Secret, but that's totally me and your body chemistry is probably completely different.

I used Degree, shower clean scent, for *years* until it stopped working for me. It worked great; I think my chemistry changed, like tg said.

I now use Secret. I prefer the kind that "stops" your hair from growing, although I'm using the invisible solid along with that click kind. It doesn't *really* stop my hair from growing; it just makes it softer so I can go more time without shaving.

eta: Make sure your arms are completely dry before you apply; the moisture inhibits proper application. Also make sure you don't overapply, and that you only apply where you sweat.

There's also... is it called Cert@inDri?

Some hard-core stuff.

A word about Certain-Dri - and Mitchum, as well - both will keep you from sweating, they are indeed hardcore deodorants, but I suspect that whatever makes them work causes severe pore cloggage, as both gave me horribly irritated, disgustingly-broken out armpits. Ouch, and, um, ew.

Is there another deodorant thread? I seem to remember posting this before...

I bumped a few old relevant threads - one in Covet and 2 in Body & Soul.
