I'm new to the forum, hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of dark circles around the eyes? I look like a monster at work in the morning and haven't found anything to help the puffiness. I try to exercise and get enough sleep, but I cannot get rid of these dark circles. Let me know if there is some sort of natural remedy or if you can suggest something. Thank you. IP: Logged |

Dark circles can be genetic. If that's the case, unfortunately, nothing really helps. (That's my case.) If your parents or relatives have dark circles, chances are yours are hereditary. Other than that, buy a good concealer. ![]() You mentioned puffiness, and that is something different than dark circles. Puffiness usually improves after you get up because some of the fluid drains away from your face. Sleeping while sort of propped up on pillows can help a little bit, but I personally hate sleeping like that. Stick some spoons in the fridge and place them over your eyes, that may help. Or cucumber slices, if you wanna go spa-like. And don't cry for long periods of time. My eyes go crazy puffy after crying spells. Oh, and welcome to the boards! IP: Logged |

And make sure you're getting enough sleep and eating well. Look into a multi-vitamin if you don't already take one. IP: Logged |

I'd also have your iron levels checked. A friend of mine had aneamia and one symptom was the dark circles under her eyes. It's usually an easy condition to handle. IP: Logged |

quote: Yep. That was my issue. At first I thought maybe mine were from too much sleep, but it turns out the oversleeping and dark circles were both caused by my anemia. Mine is pretty severe though so that might not be it. IP: Logged |

quoted "And make sure you're getting enough sleep and eating well. Look into a multi-vitamin if you don't already take one." I started taking a multivitmin to improve my skin (tone, dark circles, acne) I did feel like I had more energy, but as far as my skin, it didn't help the circles, and I don't think mine are hereditary. I recently start using a product that's similar toprevage (prevage is the new "it" product in anti-wrinkle skincare.) It's calledFreeze 24/7:Eyecicles, and I am getting really great results. I put it on in the morning and at night. I wake up and really look great. I highly recommend it! I didn't even think of the iron deficiency. Thanks for the suggestion. I already take a multi-vitamin (although not very religiously. I seem to remember every other day) Thanks for the link to the products too. I sometimes use a cream with ginger in it. It seems to help with the puffiness a bit. IP: Logged |

I have been using hydroderm's anti-aging eye complex for a few months now and the results are amazing. I have pretty combination skin but I've always had dark undereye circles that seemed under-nourished. A friend of mine who works as a facialist recommended the hydroderm line to me and I have been so happy with the results. I also use their oil free facial moisturizer, which is great. link removed due to spamminess complaints [This message has been edited by yeefan (edited 04-20-2005).] IP: Logged |
