I can meet up pretty much any weekday between now and July 27th, then I'm free again all week after August 14th.

I'd really love to meet you, Beach! On a cornier note, it's cool that you're living near the beach, too.....hehehe.

My schedule is pretty open and I'm not working so if you guys want to pick a day/night, I can probably make it. Any thoughts on places? I'm only a few blocks from English Bay Beach - so any place on Denman or Davie would be super easy for me to get to. Do you guys have any favorite places?

Ooh, I vote we get cupcakes at Cupcakes and eat them on the beach. I'm craving those so bad.

I'm in! Any night after work is great for me (other than Friday - I go to the ferry; oh, and Tuesday I watch Amazing Race but I could be convinced to skip that for cupcakes and digsters and anyway it starts at 10).

How about next week? Monday?

I'm in! I've passed that place so many times but haven't gone in yet, so I can't wait! Monday is good for me - how will I know you digsters from all the non-digsters out there?

well, here is a couple of pics of yam, natalie, me and Mr. yam and Mr. natalie from last fall.

I'll see if G can come this time. What time do you guys want to meet? Should we meet by the flags?

I *think* they're right at the corner of Denman/Davie/Beach Ave. Am I confused? Probably. It happens. We could also meet by the misplaced palm trees...or the concession stand.

Almost. I arranged to work in Vancouver so that I could be at home with him. A week before I started my new gig in Van, he gets a job in Victoria. A month later he started the job so we did have a month together in the same house. Of course I couldn't change all the plans 1 week before I was supposed to start, soooo... Anyway I will be back in Victoria in November and there is a very definite possibility of a real job there starting in January when I am called to the bar.

If it wasn't funny I'd cry.

Ok, now for Monday... I am so excited! Beach, you'll know me because I'll be the dork among all the shorts and sandals wearing a freakin' suit in July. Yam will be the one dispensing medical and craft advice on the streetcorner, and Jazz will be the one running up to people and asking if she can redecorate their houses...

Can we meet at this Cupcakes place so that no one (read: me) gets lost looking for palm trees?

So excited!

I finish work around 5:00ish so do we want to meet around 5:30? Or do people want to go home for dinner first? (I will just go shopping in the meantime if that's what you want to do).

That was really fun! It was great to meet you, Beach!

On the way home, natalie mentioned the idea of a Target roadtrip. I wouldn't be able to do one until I find a new job, but would any of the rest of you Vancouver Digsters be interested in that at some point?

Yep, there's one in Bellis Fair (at least there was when I last went there >5 years ago).

P.s., it was so fun hanging out with you guys!! Let's do it again!!

It was awesome finally meeting digsfolk! Except now we have to hang out again really soon. =)

I'm up for a roadtrip to Target... I'm not particularly anxious to go back to the US so soon but Target and Digsfolk together is _very_ tempting.

Yam, I'm very impressed - staying strong in the face of such cute, tasty cupcakes is not easy!

If you guys are coming down to see the fireworks later this month we can meet up at my place before.

yup, Bellis Fair...and it's better than the one in Burlington anyway.

I really hope I can go to the fireworks this year...I keep missing it! I'll be in school pulling out my hair and cursing. I'll let you guys know if that changes.

My former workplace bought me a little birthday cake from Cupcakes!!! It was three shades of pink with little pink flowers on it. Almost too cute to eat! But, we did...and man, was it ever yummy

(I was going to post this in the "things that make you happy" thread, but I didn't think everyone would understand the fabulousness of it )

My sister returned something for me at Target on the weekend and brought back a gift card...so now I HAVE to go back! I'm done with school on August 16th.

The fireworks were AWESOME! It's been a long time since I saw serious fireworks. There were a LOT of people but it was still easy to find a good spot. We wandered down around 9, grabbed some grass and had a great time. I can't wait until the next set!

I could hear the fireworks from East Burnaby! It turned out that I actually could have gone tonight, since I didn't start working until now. Oops. I guess it'll be another fireworks-less year for me

My new job is as a wedding planner! I'm going to start out assisting and shadowing, but the ultimate goal for me and for the owner of the company is to have me planning weddings on my own in the next 6-12 months. I'm still in complete awe that such a fabulous opportunty could have just fallen into my lap when many people in this industry work their butts off for years before they get a job. In fact, I'll have people working under me (most of who are either in school learning about event planning, or are trying to get a foot in the door - neither of which I did ) and that's never happened before!!! I thought that I was applying for an assistant job or as an event decorator (I will be specializing in decor), but she wants me to eventually be a partner with her and another girl. My gawd. I can't believe this!

As for things with G, if anything, this complicates things. Now unless this job doesn't work out, I won't really have the option of moving to Victoria at all. We had been talking about living together if he gets a summer job outside of Victoria or Vancouver, but now I won't be able to do that. But, I'm still flying on the idea of the job, so I won't worry about all that stuff right now
