I just moved into a new apartment literally about a minute down the street from the Target. My bank account is hurt from moving, and I haven't gone in there yet cause i know once i do it'll drain my funds faster than if i had a smack habit.

I got the bestest sweater at Target the other day, it's not tiny but it's fitted so I don't look like I'm wearing a potato sack. It's my new favoritest sweater ever. And it's so warm. I'm thinking about going back and getting like 4 more in different colors. Is Safeway affiliated with Target? There's a brand new Safeway right next to the Target where I live and it is the best supermarket, it has everything you could ever want from the supermarket and it is always sparkly clean.. and I swear they hired an obsessive-compulsive to face those shelves, because they are always absolutely perfect like a Warhol painting. Creepily so....sometimes when I'm shopping there and I take something off the shelf I look behind me to see if someone runs up to immediately replace it. On the weekends sometimes the boy and I go on dates to Target and Safeway. I *heart* Target and Safeway 4 ever.

My boy likes Target. It is actually a store that he'll go with me and not complain. Unforunately, he's always in a hurry to get out of the store. I think it makes him nervous when I'm in Target.

....well, you know my man, and you know shopping is his favorite sport.....it's never a problem when we go to Target, he just frolics off happily to the electronics/movies while I look at pretty things I can't afford.

I went to Target yesterday....oooh boy. For $54 (with tax) I got: a black sleeveless sweater, a black short-sleeved merino knit top, an amber necklace, and a tan weatherproof peacoat that FITS! Crazyness. CRAZY! If I had more time, I would have ventured outside of the clothing department, but I really couldn't. Blast!

I *HEART* Target.

i love their sweaters just got 2 nice shells - a must have in my office, you have to layer to deal with everyone's differing temp. requirements. and a very comfy sweater that looks & feels like wool but isn't - and all 3 are machine wash & dry!!! i have to have sweaters in the winter, but a girl only has so much room to lay the darn things flat to dry :P - so the machine dry was a real bonus.

Hi,

Forgive me if this has already been posted (because I didn't read the whole thread) but you can get the scoop on the latest Target sales at www.mycoupons.com on the "look what I found" shopping board.. For example right now they're having a large 75% off clearance, some christmas, some toys, some non-toys - Here's some examples from the list I sent my friends this morning:

three pack of smaller candles with cranberry, pumpkin, and apple fragrances. They have nice wooden tops and were $1.99 down from $7.99.

Gibson Holiday pattern cutlery boxes are 75% off.

Energizer Max AA 18 pack batteries for 2.48. they were in the Christmas isles
OR the electronics dept

calendars - 1.99 for the page a day kind

I love Target. That being said, I am beginning to wonder if it has some of the same corporate problems as Wal-Mart. It's a much cleaner store with a classier ambiance, and I've heard they make donations to social causes and refuse to support the war. But does anyone know anything about this company.

I don't know anything except the company except they do give away scholarships to various students to continue onto college. Anyone can apply for those. Plus, Target and Marshall Field's are all part of the same company... I LOVE Marshall Field's.

Since I work for a non-profit I do research on all types of grants and companies that give them. Target gives about $1000 a week to a wide variety of charities in the area and nationally.

A friend of mine worked there and said the employees are treated extremely well and everyone seems to enjoy it.

yeah, i haven't done any research on my own, but when i met michael moore, he said he thought that target was a great company. and if michael moore likes target, then they can't be too "corporate", right?

how's that for factual proof?

Wow! As a Target Team Member I am so impressed by all your positive comments. Many times at work the only guest comments we get are negative and its so great to hear good things for once. It makes all of the hard work we put into keeping our stores looking neat and clean and our mercandise low price, trendy, and in-stock, feel worthwhile. Thank you so much for your kind words and for keeping our stores in business. :-)

I don't know if Australian Target is any relation to the US one but was in there at the weekend and was really impressed with the Autumn/winter line. Since it is still really hot here I got 3 bikini's for the price of one. Don't think that I'll get any use out of the imitation sheepskin jacket just yet.

They had (real) sheepskin boots like uggs for something rediculous like AU$40. I could ship 'em over and make a fortune.

sidenote: i was just in london and could not belieeeeve how expensive the uggs were! hundreds of dollars!

anyway, on target (hee!) - i also thought target in australia was different... in fact I think it is, becasue isn't it a c0les m^er company?
Our prices never seem to go as low as US target, even with the exchange rate. Not that I'm complaining , just curious...

Just got a target catalogue in the post, if you buy a pair of uggs for $40 you get the second pair for $19, yes folks that is Oz Dollars.
They have 20% off their winter collection which has just arrived!
They have to be US 'cause why else would it all be long trousers and wooly jumpers in QLD? I was trying to find some nice shorts for my boy and nada all longies.

The Target here just opened, and I did feel kind of bad that their merchandise is allll summer (new store, so there isn't even clearance winter stuff) and it's just not summer yet. I mean, sure, it's hit 40 recently and that feels like summer after so many bitter days, but not "I need shorts, NOW!" summer.

Oh, and my second trip to Target was after a doc appointment that I had taken the morning off for, and who is the FIRST person I see (on a school day, at 10 am) but a parent of an 8th grader. Hee. Busted! (Well, it was legit, but still it felt so wrong! )

Um, super cheap Uggs? Can we arrange something? If you can really get your hands on them for those prices, I'd be willing to make it really worth yuor while to ship some to NY! (My faux Uggs- which are real suede but not real Ugg brand- were more than $40, and that is in US $!)

Heatherina they would not be authentic uggs by the american company. They are okay quality but if you wanted an authentic pair of good quality sheepskin boots for around US100 you could go to the australian sheepskin boot site.

From an earlier post Target is not related to the Australian Target. Target corp is a national coorporation but not international.
As a Team member I am so happy to hear that there are guest like you out there. As a Guest Service Team Leader(GSTL)we never hear about how nice it is to shop at Target, 95% of my day is solving problems with angry guests. So you guys are a breath of fresh air in my crazy existence I call retail.

Just braggin'... this weekend, I bought the most darling Isaac Mizrahi pant suit at Target! It's on the site, but kind of unlinkable. Anyhow, it's a casual suit in kind of a gray herringbone, and it's like a lightweight demin material. Very constructed jacket with seaming and pocket details, and the pants have these awesome wide legs. Love it! I also got some little silk sweater tees in various colors for six dollars and change each.

I just love Target.
