*dances*

I bought one of Gia's cards... for the package exchange, and the card is completely inappropriate for the exchange (I think it's a birthday card) but I still had to get it

I think my local target employees think I'm strange. I've been stalking the card section every time I'm there (which is about every other day)

I got a gia-card! Yay! It's the one with the handbag, lipstick & perfume on it. I'm going to send it to my friend whose birthday it is not, even if it is a birthday card because it is just too cute.

Yay yay yay!

what is a gia card?

I just recently got a Target credit card! At the same time, I'm trying so hard to save money.. It's really hard when you have two Targets close by (one is a Target Greatland).

I swear Target is the only store that has clothes made for me or something! All the pants fit me sooo well! I don't get it lol.

Speaking of which, I STILL haven't seen your cards, gia! I'll be sure to look again this weekend when I'm there.

I'm reposting this from Get Local in case anyone outside NYC has any info???
I read a rumor somewhere (Budget Living) that TARGET is having a boutique w/ the Isaac Mizrahi stuff in Rockefeller Center this September. Does anyone know any more? Is it true? I couldn't tell if a store was opening or if it was the kind of temporary thing that they did on a boat last christmas?

I did it. I went in for a shower curtain, and came out with a whole new bathroom.

I got the dark todd oldham striped shower curtain, a few bath shelving units, and a new ironing board.

Not at all. The main thing I love about Target is that you can shop on a serious budget and still have you or your home look quite fashionable. I love looking in there, I try to visit about once a week but that's a bit dangerous to my wallet.

Dude... can we get a prayer meetin' about the obscenely, murderously, really bad, heinous Izaac Mizrahi line at Target?!? Have you seen the plaid silk shirt?

Holy... missed the mark on that one. I'm bummin'. I had hoped that it'd be cute stuff.

Ok, thanks for saying that. I was hoping it wasn't just me thinking that stuff was bad. I don't think I'd be caught dead in any of it.

I have seen that mid-calf red dress with the tie belt numerous places and I'm sorry, but it looks just like some LL Bean/Eddie Bauer rip off. Not very stylish at all. I mean, that stuff is fine if that's your look, but this guy is supposed to be some hot designer for cry pete.

I agree about the plaid shirt and the red dress, but some of the shoes are cute (not the boots though) and the khakis seem nice, also the suede skirt. It seems rather too hit and miss for a 5th Avenue designer though.

I like his suede skirt, but that's about it. HIs shoes are ok too, but they dont fit me right since my feet are so narrow. I have much better luck with the Merona line. But I do think it is cool that Target is teaming up with real designers - the worst stuff is target is way better than anything Jacklyn Smith has at KMart.

I like much of the Isaac Mizrahi items. I think a lot of the pieces are very simple and classic -looking. (the only peice of clothing that I really don't see me ever wearing is the bright ass silk top with his name on it.) His shoes are very cute. I like the black slingbacks the best.

BTW, I walked past the new Rock Ctr. Target/Mizrahi boutique today while Isaac was inside fussing with things and doing what looked like an ad or PR shoot. There was a cute tweed suit in the window that looked good, along with that heinous red dress...

I am new Target convert... I went there with my mom recently.

I only bought one thing (I was able to control myself), but it just the coolest lamp ever! It looks like litebrite pegs stuck in a deep blue metal base. I am in love with it. I keep walking into my room and hugging it. So cute! I am now saving $$$ so that when I get my own place, I can totally furnish it in Target!

I was soo excited when I saw that they finally had a matching filing cabinet for my mission-style desk AND that it was on sale! But it turned out so disappointing. The cabinet didn't fit under the desk like it was supposed to and it just looked so crappy - you could see through the slats on the sides and the sides of the filing drawer were ugly, cheap wood. I am crushed because I've been looking for a filing cabinet for under that desk since I bought it 2+ years ago and I thought theirs would be perfect, seeing as how it was designed for that purpose. Argh!

Nooooo! you're kidding! the mission-style filing cabinet canNOT be ugly...*le sigh* I have that desk as well, which I love, and the small folding bookcase. I want to get the new giant bookcase, too, although I think I'm running out of space in my tiny apartment.
I got a cheap TV cart at Target to finish the transformation of my living room. When I say tiny apartment, I mean TINY...but moving around furniture really made a difference. There is tons of room now to hang out in the living room without feeling like you're on top of everyone, and I even have enough room to spread out my yoga mat in front of the TV and do tapes. I'm very pleased, and it all hinged on the particleboard TV cart for 19.99...hehehe
Target is the best!

it's MONEY. meaning it's AWESOME. absolutely natural, great smelling cleaner. available at all Target stores... and Wegman's grocery stores if you're in New York & Vicinity. the package design alone makes me want to look at it all the time.

Hee, I went through a total-method-immersion a couple weeks ago. I'm working on a products-of-the-year package for the maagzine I work for, and I contacted Method to see i they'd launched anything drool-worthy in '03. (The Karim Rashid-designed dish soap bottles were '02.)
There didn't end up being anything we could use, but the PR woman sent me a *30 pound* box of method products, including prototypes of their newest bottle and the gerneral purpose wipes they're releasing. It was a method frenzy.

It's about all I can do to keep myself from buying out half of Target right now. Every time I go in there, I find something new to drool over (and I go in there a LOT). I am currently waiting for my next paycheck so I can buy that Isaac Mizrahi black & white tweed suit. (Still trying to decide between the dress or skirt, though, and someything tells me 3 pieces in that fabric might be a bit much.)
