I think someone should do a doctoral dissertation on why it is so impossible to walk into Target to buy one specific thing and walk out $157.22 later with a ton of other things.

My latest trip to Target: Go specifically to buy a bookshelf that I had a rain check for because it had sold out while on sale. (This one here which I love because it fits perfectly in the nook by my pantry and holds all my cookbooks. And yes, I needed 3/4 of it for cookbooks.) I actually remembered to get that, which doesn't always happen, but also ended up with a ream of paper for the printer, two new bras, a shirt, a cute pair of linen crop pants, a CD adapter for my car because it's a piece of crap that I am replacing in a year so I'm not going to pay to put a CD player in it, and a bag of toffee almond hershey kisses (SO good.)

I almost bought some anjou pear candles but I didn't because I have too many candles already that I don't need any more, but I think I'm going to have to go back and get them because they just smelled so good. You don't even have to be in the store for it to make you need to buy things.

And whoever suggested direct deposting their paycheck at Target is just about right. Maybe we could start the Bank of Target and if you have your account there, you get a discount on your purchases. Or special sale flyers or some such.

I actually just finished reading this book on that very subject. It was actually quite interesting and it totally made me love them even more.

Can you believe that our town recently protested the fact that Target wanted to build a SuperTarget here, and they pulled out? People complained enough that they didn't want to be here. So now Wal-Mart is going to build a big fat SuperMart where the Target was going to be.

Bah. Double Bah.

Just an FYI--If you sign up for a Target Visa credit card, you do get special discounts on top of earning rewards. I just signed up for the credit card and I get 10% off the total of an in-store purchase and another 10% off on-line. Plus, they have a smart reader that you install on your computer, which I guess when you swipe your card through, you get specials from Target that no one else gets. Also, every dollar you spend goes toward more rewards and they send special discounts to you as well. I plan on putting all of my purchases at Target on the card and paying it off each month for the rewards.

i have the same rug! I bought it a couple of years ago at Target...my furniture is khaki but I pulled colors out of the rug for throwpillows. I also painted canvases the same colors as the rug (each canvas was a solid color) to spice up my walls.

well, not all of them are on clearance. Oddly enough, I found my dress both on the non-clearance and regular rack. The thick-sleeved ones are still full price, the spaghetti strap type ones are marked down.

I saw that rug a couple of weeks ago, and decided I have to have it for my new place. I've got newly refinished wood floors, and I thought the rug would look great with my beige furniture and some deep red and blue and sage green accents...

I went to Target yesterday!!! My sister and I drove down to Burlington, WA and did our outlet store/Target tour. It was fabulous! I bought some really cute shirts and found bras that actually fit!

I heart heart heart Target!

edited to add: I love the Swell stuff! It's too bad I don't actually need any housewares at the moment.

Ahh, target bras.

I have seven (yes, that's right, seven) of the cotton ones with the little flowers by cherokee. They fit better than anything I've ever found, and cost ten dollars. I am going to buy more and save them for when these wear out.

i used to work at target.... i was a "signing specialist" it was my job to hand everthing from the ceiling... check it out next time you're in there. they have a LOT of stuff hanging from the ceiling... I worked closely with the team that did the price changes, so i knew exactly what and when things were going on clearance...

My husband keeps asking the manager when they will be naming an aisle after me!

The clearance racks are the best! I have been loosing weight and it doesn't cost me a fortune to keep my wardrobe updated.

When me kids have a gift to buy (or recieve) they love the Target gift cards.

The only thing that I don't like is that when they recently remodled, they changed the menu at the snack bar.
(now you see why I needed the diet )

I went to Target today specifically to buy cat food and what did I end up buying? Too much! I walked out paying $117 for stuff like picture frames, paintings, cute rugs, socks, decorative potpourri (I never use potpourri!). I agreed with someone who said she imagined the psychologists and executives gleefully laughing under the mountain of money that she'd spent. I felt the same!

I am seriously in need of Target therapy hehe. I have been spending so so much money there lately.

I really love that place.

Alright, I finally did it. I mentioned a month or so ago that I wanted this rug, and now I have it. I went in to Target a few days ago to buy a mirror and picture frames, and instead I ended up with the rug. Now I'm looking for curtains and throw pillows in plum and sage green...

There are now at least 4 digsters with that rug!

I'm off to Target this morning to turn in some film...since I'm doing the one hour film drop I'm sure that I will find TONS to buy while I wait!

I was going to buy that exact rug next week... a good friend of mine bought one a while back and I've been lusting after it ever since. When I clicked on the link and saw which rug it was, I couldn't help but laugh.

This is too funny - my furniture is kind of a khaki color and I used purple, orangy-red, and sage green throw pillows as accents to bring out the colors in that rug in my living room. I guess great minds think alike!

If you go to Target now through tomorrow and use your Target card, you will get an additional 10% off as a customer appreciation.

I went yesterday for some cat food and wound up buying two pairs of capri dress pants for $10 each, a Schwinn gel seat for my bike for $3, a yoga kit, which included two yoga bricks, a video and cd, for $3, plus some other essentials. Plus I got my additional 10% off. The only bad thing is that the video won't work and it was the only kit left, so I can't exchange it. I don't know if there is a way to fix it. So now I have two yoga bricks and have no idea how to use them. I may have to return them.

(my first digs post after lots of lurking, yay!)

I actually find that our SuperTarget is the cheapest for grocery shopping. After going there a few times, and then visiting Tom Thumb for some essentials, most of what we buy regularly is TWICE as expensive at normal grocery stores!! I couldn't believe it.

Last night my honey and I did our every-two-weeks grocery shopping, and we got a whole ton of stuff for $75. That cartful would have easily cost at least $50 more at one of the chain grocery stores! Target's in-store brand, Archer Farms, is one of the best I've ever seen.

That said, there is a special group of 60 5x5 cards with small art on a white background. It's called "Simply St@ted" (@ to avoid weird web searchers). Anyhoo, coordinating and directing that group was none other than me and I happen to have 5 cards in the group as well. My name on the back is shown as a flower name as the first name and Cooper as the last.

So, please look and buy lots!
