Target. It's the woman's Home Depot. Of course, I actually love Home Depot, too, though. Hmmm.... It's the woman's... Oh.... forget it. I'm punchy tonight. IP: Logged |

I miss Super Target We had the best one in my college town! The grocery selection was great, although pricier than a regular grocery store. The Target near me now is pretty scary, although they just opened a new one that I need to visit. I got an AWESOME pair of knee high boots there (Mossimo) for $29. People are always complimenting them! I love the shoes at Target! IP: Logged |

I really like Mossimo in general. I was looking at my growing collection of Target apparel, and realized that they mostly are Mossimo brand. They are nice looking clothes (ie. they look as though they could have been purchased in your average dept. store rather than a "discount" store) that seem to last pretty well - and they FIT! Does anyone know of any other stores that carry Mossimo, or is it just a Target thing? (although - if you can get them there...why go anywhere else!) IP: Logged |

I was in Target this weekend to pick up a prescription, and thought I would swing by the shoes to check out the Mossimo mules that Emcarb had spoken so highly about, which I did not find. They may have sold out of them. Anyway, I was walking down the boot isle, looking at their Mossimo ankle high boots with the tiny strap and buckle on them that are about $25.00, when my eye caught a clearance sign sitting across the isle. There sat a lone pair of of the same boots in a size 7. The best part was someone had probably returned them and Target automatically marked them down 50% because they were returned. So I only paid $12 for these boots and I just love them! One of my friends used to work at Target and she told me about how they mark down all returns 50%, but the employees usually purchase the returns as they come in because they know they get the 50% off plus their regular 10% discount. So I feel lucky that an employee with a size 7 foot didn't grab them first. Has anyone noticed that Target is now selling Tupperware? It is expensive, but I just like to look at it, drool, and dream about not having to use Cool Whip containers for food storage. IP: Logged |

I have decided I need to stop reading this thread it is costing me way to much money. I feel the need to leave work and go to Target and buy all the cool things everyone is talking about! How does Target manage to make a "want" into a major "need"?

*bump* because of this e-mail from our chairman: "In lieu of holiday parties this year, I am happy to announce that [Corporation]and TARGET, our biggest retail advertiser, and a distributor of our magazines, have formed a partnership and created a gift for [Corporation]’s U.S.-based employees. A $100 gift certificate, which can be used at any TARGET store or at TARGET.com, will be mailed to your home within the next two weeks. You will find gifts for everyone on your list…and for yourself. The gift certificate has no expiration date so you can use it whenever you like. We hope you enjoy the TARGET experience." Whoo! And we had a holiday party anyway, though we didn't call it that! OUBOBCAT.........FUnny story about tupperware. When my s.o. and I were at the opening for the Big KMart, I automatically entered my name for all of the drawings. About a month later I get this call from blahblahblah at Kmart and I'm like "nothanksforwhateveryouaretryingtosellmeorconvincemeoverthephone" and then the lady says you won our drawing for $100 worth of tupperware!!! When we got there I was expecting a small box of items, but lets just say the box wouldn't even fit in my car, so my bf and I had to empty out the box and FILL (can't express enough) my backseat, it was a very interesting day and christmas for my relatives

> It is expensive, but I just like to look at >it, drool, and dream about not having to use >Cool Whip containers for food storage. Ooh, you should try that ziplock "disposable" tupperware stuff. It's like a quarter of the price (and weight! man, my lunch bag would be so heavy with the non-disposable stuff) of real tupperware or rubbermaid or whatever, but it's SO sturdy, I've found. I have a couple sets that have been through the dishwasher probably 50 times each, but they still seal perfectly. And unlike my real tupperware, they aren't all stained from tomato sauce. Who knows how that works, but I'll take it. IP: Logged |

Gotta love those cheap disposable tupperware-type stuff. have you seen Target's Christmas decorations? They are fabulous! They have these new frosted globe lights. I saw them up everywhere in Vancouver, and they look absolutely beautiful. IP: Logged |

I might have to just try those ziplock disposable containers to tied me over until I decide it is time to purchase the Tupperware. That is a really good idea! My husband and I are just pitiful. Neither of us wants to spend our money on food containers. We have gone almost six years with our Cool Whip and ice cream containers, mixed in with a couple of Rubbermaid containers I had in college. I think I've probably earned back the cost of the ziplock things several times over just in the cost of food that doesn't go bad now that I have transparent containers. I used to have so much food go moldy in MY cool whip, margarine, and tofulati containers because I would forget what was in them until 3 months later. La, la, la! My fridge is so the boss of me. I remember like 6-8 years ago, Mossimo was a designer brand and made clothes for really tall, skinny, California babes-type people. tiny tapered jeans, shirts were ALWAYS cropped. I bought a mossimo shirt @ Marshalls in 9th grade (6yrs ago! woah) when I weight 100lbs and even then the shoulders were too small. Now it's a Target brand that more people can afford and more people can wear. I haven't seen it anywhere else. >Does anyone know of any other stores that carry Mossimo, or is it just a Target thing? When I was in junior high (around '92 or '93) in California, Mossimo was a big preppy brand. I mostly remember the shirts- they sold them at Pacific Sunwear and were mostly for surfer Cali kids. They looked kind of like the Stussy shirts or No Fear shirts that were also popular at the time. IP: Logged |

Slourdes, we must be the same age, those are the years I was in junior high also! Anyway, I had some Mossimo things back then as well, but now he only designs for Target. There was a hoopla when this all began with a couple of magazine spreads on it as well. (Just a little tidbit to add, he's married to Lori Loughlin, of Full House fame) I think the deal with him was that he was going bankrupt or something like that so Target came in and swooped him up. When I have more time (and if I remember IP: Logged |

As for the shoes.... They're very cute and not "Oh my gosh I'm going to die!" painful, but the soles leave something to be desired. Unless they're mules or sandals you're looking at, put some insoles in them, and you'll be fine. I have a pair of mules I got last fall and a pair of tall boots I got in September, and they're both very cute! I wear the boots ALL the time! IP: Logged |

I too wear my Mossimo boots all the time. While they aren't as high of quality as other boots I have bought in department stores, I can live with them. They aren't the most comfortable shoes I own, but they also do not hurt my feet. IP: Logged |

I got the down throw last week. I totally love it. I'm short so I actually use it when I go to sleep - it is so very warm, I don't need a sheet or any other blankets. I got the blue one with little snowmen and trees; but the blue plaid one was nice too. IP: Logged |

After reading about the Swell products from Not Martha today and reading all your "Target addictions", I think I'm going for a little road trip from Toronto to Buffalo this Sunday to check out some goodies. I hope it won't be snowing too hard this weekend!

Target has great Valentine's Day decorations. They have the cutest heart shaped lights and things, but they only come ten on a strand and are 10 bucks each, so kind of expensive. There's not much you can do with just one of those strands, but they are soooo cute. I might just have to get some anyway. IP: Logged |

Oh I know those lights are pretty. My Mom is one cool mom, example: she wants to buy a few boxes of them and string them around the living room, permanently.

I just found this thread... and I am sooooo happy to learn that others have an addiction to target! lol... just this week I went in to Target to get Mott's Apple Juice because its TWO DOLLARS cheaper than the grocery store... My daughter and I left with books... a giant ball for 2 bucks... a DVD... a snowsuit for her... new sheets... stickers... cork board tiles... febreeze... this really cool fold-up mesh laundry bag thingy that has three separate compartments to sort your laundry... and much much more... the worst part of the story though... I FORGOT THE APPLE JUICE! I too always end up spending an hour or more in there even if I just go in for one item... Everytime I leave there I have this picture of a room full of psychologists and target executives rolling around in a giant pile of my money! I swear they are playing mind games with me! lol IP: Logged |
