Wow, those Demeter scents look good. Does anyone know of a place where I can get samples of them so I know which one(s) I'd like?

I've been wearing Philosophy Pure Grace lately. That and Clean. Perfumes I'd like to get: Armani She, Gucci Rush 2, and Benefit Maybe Baby.

My main staple perfume is Pleasures, but I received this Bath & Body Works stuff as a gift. It's called Warm Vanilla Sugar. I am completely loving it. It has such a cozy, warm smell. The bottle says that it is infused with real vanilla
extract, coconut, basmati rice & sandalwood..I smell yummy!

I had been using my ancient bottle of Gap Grass sparingly since they discontinued it a few years ago, but I was at a Gap outlet this week and they have it again! Grass, Om and one of their old-school scents are back as limited editions. I smell springy!

My signature is Hot Couture by Givenchy, but I've been mixing it up lately - got a sample of L'Instant De Guerlain and it's DiViNe! Also, Jovan Musk has been getting a workout lately.

And my fella got me Chantal Thomass for Christmas...it's heavenly.

I went through a bottle of Sui Love last year, I'm yet to replace it.

And when I go to sleep, I wear lavender oil.

I'm nuts about fragrance

I use a soap called Belly Dancer, made by a tiny company called Pretty Baby. The smell stays on my skin all day and my boyfriend thinks its really sexy. As an extra perk, all of the Pretty Baby products are all natural and cruelty-free. You can get them at www.prettybabysoap.com or at lots of craft shows.

For the poster above who wanted to know where she could test out the Demeter scents, check your local Sephora- I have seen a sizeable assortment there.
I've been wearing "Love" by Anna Sui, which I, appropriately, love.
I was in Target the other day, and picked up a small bottle of a grapefruit/bergamot/lotus flower perfume by Sonia Kashuk. It was so cheap it was almost free, and I adore it! Very fresh and crisp. I'm going to bring it on vacation (don't like to risk carrying bottles of spendy perfume in my luggage.)

You convinced me. I just bought the Woodstock sampler set and a bar of Belly Dancer soap. I always use handmade soaps. They just make me really happy. So, I'm excited about getting new ones!

when i get a new scent i get a smaller size bottle of its accompanying lotion too. i take the lotion with me when i travel and just use that instead of perfume. i'm always super paranoid of my perfume exploding on the plane!

I used to work for a Sephora so I still have lots of gratis and half-gone testers. My favorites are Anna Sui, Alchemie (my favorite), Noa (I know it's summer again when I start spritzing this), and Bulgari Black.

Here are some spritzing tips I learned from the pros: never ever spray your neck or decolletage (chest) because the alcohol causes the skin to dry and you'll get that lovely chicken neck as you age. Spray the back of your neck and the heat will keep the scent longer. Spritz your wrists, but don't rub them together, just let the scent dry naturally. In summer time spritz behind your knees and the heat will make the scent rise.

Nice to know that job was good for something!

*edited because I put down Burberry instead of Bulgari. How dare I!

Ooo, my future MIL gave me the body mist of that this past weekend! Mmmmm, yummy.
I've been spritzing it on before I dash off to work since we're not supposed to use "heavy" scents. My other two perfumes are Vanilla Fields (do we see a trend here?) and Oceana. Don't use that one very much, but every time I wear it, it reminds me of the cruise my grandma took us on when I was still in college, since that's where Mom buoght it for me.

Do they carry the Warm Vanilla Sugar Year round or is a seasonal item?

All through High School I used to wear body spays.I have always adored Sweet Pea (B&BW)Plus Strawberries and Champagne (Victoria's Secret).

They carry it year round. Every time I go there, I see it, but I don't go there very often because they don't have B&BW in Canada so it's 2 hours away!

But B&BW + Target + Krispy Kreme is worth a 15 hour drive

They should make a fresh donut scented perfume...

We went to pick something out together, and when we smelled the Romance, we both said simultaneously, "that's the one." It's floral, pretty girly, but not too much; I always think that the commercials and the name capture it perfectly. Makes me think of pale pink and lace.

I wore Romance on my wedding day--the scent just makes me happy

I like Candie's for women...I usually hate perfumey perfume, but it's very light and it doesn't bother me. It's kind of expensive for your average person-who-buys-smelly-things-from-the-drugstore, though, so I don't usually get it. I have yet to find a smell that I like so much I'll get it and only it, so I switch around a lot, in hopes I'll find THE ONE. I usually end up wearing scented oils. I had a sandalwood one once that I absolutely LOVED, and also a honeysuckle one that smelled SO GOOD, like real honeysuckle, not perfume's version of it. I wanted to smell like it ALL THE TIME. Unfortunately, it's long since used up, and I have yet to ever find its equal - the sandalwood one either.

I like Bath & Body Works essential oil stuff - the Jasmine and the Ylang-Ylang & Myrrh. They're a bit strong, though, and I'm bad at smelling things on myself, so it's easy to put too much on.

The search goes ever on...

My guy feels the exact same way about cologne so I just buy him what I like! So far my two faves for him are:
Curve and Ralph Lauren Romance, both for men, of course!

Ohh... Ralph Lauren Romance is heavenly, especially on men. Boy is currently wearing Givenchi (sp?!) which is fantastic.

I guess boys with fresh sents that aren't strong are the way to go. Nothing musky... it's too much like they haven't bathed (even though women are supposedly more attracted to men that have a more, um, manly smell. I don't think I believe that but maybe we're all animals at heart...)

I love the Demeter line, but the one I like best is called Dirt, and I can't justify spending money on it, because I smell like dirt almost everyday ANYWAY. It just comes with the territory in my department!

But I am LOVING a scent that is not a scent, but a hair product with a lovely subtle beachy scent. It's called Ocean Waves and it's in the John Freida Beach Blonde line. Now, a quick trip to Digscentric would prove that I'm not blonde. But, it's a spray that texturizes your hair and it smells like the BEACH. Not overpowering in its coco-nutty-ness, but with also a tiny hint of, like, sea salt, or something.

Anyway, I have had more people sniffing my head than you can possibly imagine. It's all good. Boyfriend is fond of saying, "I love your hair, it smells like vacation."

have you tried the body shop's sandalwood perfume oil? it's lovely.

i've been using it for years (and i love it), but i'd like to find a perfume that is like that but stronger. the perfume oil just doesn't last that long.

any recommendations on sandalwoody perfume?
