I am wearing daphne today - in honor of all the flowers that in bloom outside my apartment - it is my favorite flower!! The only thing I don't like about Demeter stuff is that they only seem to last a few hours, so by lunch I am scent free. Has anyone tried all the lotions, so they last longer?

I don't actually have a scent right now and haven't for at least two years. I used to wear CK1 and then I really loved Curve for a while, but it only lasts five minutes! No wonder they sell it in such a huge bottle. I was so inspired by everyone's love of Clinique Happy as I read the previous replies that I decided to try out a sample I got during Clinique bonus. Unfortunately, it made me gag and now I can't get it off of me. I really want a natural smelling scent that isn't too strong or overpowering. I heard Gap grass was nice, but I guess it's been discontinued. Is the demeter fragrance similar? Does anyone have any advice? I don't want to spend too much money because I don't wear it often, but if I were to find the "perfect" scent I might spring for it. Any suggestions?

I love Elizabeth Arden Green Tea. It smells light and clean and sugary. The new Spiced Green Tea is also good.

I really liked Gap Grass for awhile, then I got a bit sick of it. The Demeter perfumes are great - go somewhere where you can smell them all.

My day scent is Heaven by GAP, and my "special" (favorite) parfum is Jaipur by Boucheron . . . amazing, and so expensive! But, someone gave me a couple of miniatures, and because it's parfum and not cologne, they're lasting forever! Maybe I'll wear Happy this summer as my day scent

I sold men's fragrance for a while, so I always know when a guy has good taste.

I spent high school doused in Vanilla Fields, and college borrowing whatever scents my roommies had. Now that I'm a "grown-up" (hah!) I decided I had to get something of my own. I sometimes wear Oui by Lancome during the day (it's light and not too flowery), but made the boyfriend help me pick out something for evening. We both loved Hypnotic Poison by Dior - soooo sexy. I like just saying it. It's my favorite and I wish I could wear it all the time, but it's a little too much to wear to work. I spray it on my hair, too!!!

I've always worn Shalimar, even before I was old enough to really pull it off. I could afford it because it a signature scent of my aunt who can only wear the perfume, so I'd get regifted all the colognes and lotions and such. Now when I have to buy my own I about have a heart attack at how expensive it is. Nothing beats the perfum though. Sometimes I mix it with amber just for the sheer blasphemy of it.

Recently I took a liking to Manifesto, it's really light. Now I think of it as my "day time" scent and the shalimar as the scent of my darker mysterious persona.

For years I wore nothing but Paloma Picasso--it was my signature scent. Then my senior year in college I started working at Marshall Field's and began using Polo Sport for women because I was broke and it was part of a gift with purchase deal. Since then, I have used Burberry of London and Desire from Victoria's Secret. I also have a bottle of Eternity for women that my husband bought me when we were dating--but it tends to give me a headache, so I only wear it occasionally for him. I also use a lot of Plumeria Bath & Body Works lotion--so I always kind of smell like that. I had a co-worker tell me once that he always knew when I had come in in the morning because this wave of Plumeria would waft down the hall. Perhaps it's time to consider unscented lotion...

Last summer I wore Grass by GAP, which smells just like fresh cut grass. Half way through the bottle I was tired of it.
My all time favorite is Mackie by Bob Mackie.
I haven't had any in over a yr!

L'eau d'Issey is my favourite. Love the scent, and the pun makes me laugh (I'm disturbingly easily amused).

But I've stopped wearing perfume lately - I find scent really evocative (to this day I can smell Gap Dream and think, hmm, Summer 1996). I hate my job so much at the moment I don't want to develop an association with any particular fragrance. But on the weekends I like Green Tea, Scent of a Woman by Body Shop (with the added bonus that it wasn't dripped in any poor bunny's eyes during development).

I do wish perfumes came in smaller bottles - I don't know anyone who doesn't become bored with a scent halfway through the bottle.

I currently have 4 bottles going....
For everyday I wear Abercrobe (maybe 22? I can't remember the name), Banana Republic and Romance by Ralph Lauren. For going out somewhere special I wear Ysatis, which I have been wearing for years. I also like Samsara but I don't have any right now. I am obsessing over Michael Kors and plan on investing in it very soon.

Are you referring to the fact that the name sounds like "Lotus A"? Or is there some other joke I am missing since I don't speak French? I do like that perfume a lot.

I spritz on my belly. I figure it's central and warm, so the fragrance wafts evenly. I like 212 for day and Intuition at night. My boytoy goes ga ga for Intuition (that's why I bought it). I don't know what it is or that I agree, though.

Ooooo, thanks for the tip, Maya! I really like Gucci Rush, but I've never bought any for myself. Maybe I'll have to try Rush 2 then.

One perfume that I absolutely loved, loved, LOVED was Bodacious by Graham Webb, but I don't think they make it anymore.

I only wear perfume when I go out because I hate being on the subway when there are women doused with perfume on a weekday and all their scents mix together and make me want to vomit. So I figure I ought not to contribute to the odor.

When I go out, I wear Marc Jacobs Perfume. It's sophisticated and simple, yet not too overpowering. I spray on the base of my neck, behind my knees and ears, and on my wrists. Just a small spritz, though, in those spots, so it's not nauseating. I'm going to try spraying behind my hair instead of behind my ears next time!

For ages, I wore Vanilla Lace from Victoria's Secret, and during that time, every guy who got anywhere near me commented positively about it. It scarred a couple of ex boyfriends who now think of me every time they smell someone wearing it. I still like it, but for some reason it doesn't smell as good to me anymore. Maybe as you grow up and your hormones change, the things that smell good to you change too...Do any of the sciency types on the boards have any insights on how the Pill changes your sense of smell? I have heard that since it makes your body think that you're pregnant, it makes you more attracted to people who smell similarly to you. In other words, when you're pregnant your body stops sniffing out for compatible sex partners and pushes you toward members of your own family for support.

I looked at the Demeter site, and I am intrigued, but how do you know if you'll like a fragrance if you buy it off the web? You can't test it out! Do you just pick a kind that sounds good and hope for the best?

You guys will probably think this is gross, but I really like the smell of my bf's sweat. I mean, when he wears cologne, it smells wonderful on him, but the spicy smell of him when he just wakes up turns me on more than anything else. I like to curl up under his arm so I can sniff him. At first, he thought this was a bit out of the ordinary, having someone stick their nose in his armpit. However, I think he now really likes the idea that I get so riled up from his personal chemistry.

You are not alone. I found out last week. They also sell lip gloss and body glitter and all sorts of non-khaki type items. Who knew?

I don't normally wear perfume, although a friend of mine bought me a bottle of stuff that's supposed to be female pheremone or some junk, to attract the boys. I haven't used it, I keep having visions of middle aged men throwing themselves at me.....

I can absolutely relate to that and I think it's a wonderfully intimate thing to do and to appreciate. . I did the same thing when I had a boyfriend. I miss doing it (and the boyfriend, of course).

I've been obsessed with perfumes lately. Today I bought Gap "Heaven" and Bath and Body Works "Love." Next on my to-buy (or to-have-people-buy-for-me, hee hee) list are Victoria's Secret "Body" and Philosophy "Amazing Grace."

As for perfume-application, I never spray it on myself. I always worry that it will be too strong and nobody will want to be around me...so instead, I spray it on a cotton ball and dab it on myself (wrists, stomach, neck, backs of knees).

I also have lots of yummy-smelling lotions. I tend to love them for a few weeks, and then I get sick of them and buy new ones. The old ones just accumulate in the bathroom. Anybody want to buy some used lotions?

I choose not to spritz and just go natural.

Signature scent -- my boyfriend strongly believes that certain scents/colognes coordinate with certain colors/outfits. For example... eddie bauer goes with dark greens and blues only. Light blues goes with Chrome and Chaps goes with red. weird.

I use Burberrys too and have for years. A salesperson recommended it to me and I go through about a bottle every year. I spray in my hair and on whatever shirt I am wearing.

I also wear perfumes from Aveda. They smell very earthy and my boyfriend prefers that smell, so I bought him a bottle of Aveda for Men (super yummy). I got it for him three x-masses ago and its only like 1/8th gone. Its either feast or famine with guys and cologne.

I also have a bottle Debbie Gibson's Electric Youth that I keep around just for nostalgia's sake.

Gap scent "Dream" has noticeable tones of magnolia in it. It's my absolute favorite, inexpensive and easily avalable. I own so much of it. Spray, lotion, shower gel you name it. I've been thinking of something new to shake things up maybe. BGBC's star or Lucky You seems promising. The other sent I loved was Victoria Secret's whispering mist. A friend bought it for me for Christmas a couple years ago. It's been discontinued!

Edited to say that exclamation was my very first perfume too! It used to be all that I wore but I can't stand the smell of it now...go figure.

Shutterbug- reflect.com had some kind of deal where you could create 3 samples of perfume for about $5. I did that a year or two ago and thought that the 3 samples turned out well. I liked all 3 of the scents and would recommend it, especially if you can do a sample thing first to make sure you like what you made.

I just got Ralph by Ralph Lauren, and I absolutely love it! I also got Gap Heaven, and I really like it a lot because it's so light and non-overpowering.

The only thing about Ralph that bothers me is the name. Does Ralph strike anyone else as a ridiculous name for a perfume? Or maybe I just think so because my boyfriend is making all these "ralph" (as in vomit) jokes...
