One disclaimer: Never mind the picture. This dish IS
tasty. It’s hard to make stewed and braised things look good
in photos.
ingredients
3-6 frozen boneless/skinless chicken pieces
(no need to defrost)
1/2 large onion (or 1 small/med), chopped
2 cloves garlic, crushed-minced
1 Tbsp Olive oil
1/4 Cup Red Wine (or other liquid)
1/4 jar Spaghetti sauce (or any other tomato product)
1 head cabbage, sliced
Salt/pepper
serves: 2-4
1. Put
a large
frypan on high heat. When hot, add oil. Put as many chicken pieces in
the pan as will comfortably fit in the bottom without crowding. Add onion
and garlic (in the open spaces), and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Cook
for 1-2 min., stirring the onions occasionally, until the bottom of the
chicken is lightly browned. 2.
Add the spaghetti sauce and wine and stir. Place sliced
cabbage over the top of the whole thing, as much as will fit. Cabbage
cooks down, so don’t worry about it being too much. Add a few
sprinkles of salt and pepper over the cabbage. 3.
Cover and turn heat down to medium/low. 4. Watch
a rerun of "Friends." (20 min. or so) 5.
Eat.
