tandem
cooking, a summer menu for two:
Bananas Foster
True, an authentic Bananas Foster
features flambéed bananas, but frankly, I’m afraid of open flames.
This version captures all the goodness of that classic, without any of
the risk of burning your kitchen down. Fast, easy, and amazingly good,
especially if you splurge for the good stuff with the ice cream.
ingredients
3-4 bananas
1½ tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. rum
1 tbsp. Kahlua
1 tbsp. brown sugar
vanilla ice cream

Melt the butter in a saucepan on medium heat.

Add the bananas, rum, Kahlua and brown sugar and stir well. Cook for
several minutes, until the alcohol has mostly evaporated off and the

over vanilla ice cream.
