saved for the living room for last, in part because it took her
awhile to figure out what to do with the stained ceiling tiles,
which dominated the room. She considered replacing them; she
contemplated covering them up with fabric or wallpaper. These
plans were scrapped when she realized they'd be too pricey.

In
the end she simply painted the existing ceiling tiles in a
beautiful sky blue, using a fuzzy roller to get the paint into
all the nooks and crannies. As Erin says, "After the paint
was up you hardly noticed the tiles at all and the fresh coat of
paint turned the cave like room into a warm light space." > |
