Shake 2 oz. whiskey, 1 oz. lemon juice, 1 tsp. sugar and ice in a cocktail shaker. Pour into cocktail glass, sour glass or short glass. Garnish with orange slice and maraschino cherry.

Alternate recipe: Combine 2 oz. whiskey, 2 oz. lemon juice and 1/2 oz. simple syrup. Proceed as above.
